Home

After living off the island for seven years, it still surprises me that I call it home. I have been thinking about the whole idea of "home" for sometime now. When I first found out I was pregnant I told Luke,"I just want to live in a place that feels like a home." The truth is I think it's been about twelve years since I last felt like I was home. Home to me means love and safety....mixed with a sense of belonging. I have come to realize...I have more than one home and as I cultivate a home for Violet, I am renewed by the homes of my past and inspired by the heavenly home of my future.

While I was at home I got to go to my mom's graduation. My mom has just completed a course through North Island College and is now a Health Unit Clerk. I'm so proud of my mom and her 96% average!!!! She has taught me a lot about perseverance, and determination. Way to go mom!

And in other news....I'd like to congratulate my sister Amber for earning her black belt in taekwondoe. Seven years of hard work.....we're so proud of you Berbs!!!

Happy 30th Birthday!

Well, Luke is officially old! Just joking. I must say it's pretty neat having a husband who has entered his third decade of life....and I'm so excited for Luke and this new chapter of his life. Thirty is the new awesome...or at least this is what I will tell myself for the next four years...okay more like three and a half. :) For Luke's birthday dinner we went with his parents to Anton's Pasta Bar....it was delicious, but definitely carb overload. The next night we had a birthday party for Luke at our friends house...a good time was had by all.

8 Weeks

Eight weeks ago today we met our little blessing....she doesn't seem so little anymore. Violet is growing so quickly! We've already had to pack away some of her sleepers and onesies. At this rate I think she'll be taller than me by the time she's 3!

Our days have been filled with much goodness....but we're certainly looking forward to seeing the sun at some point this summer. Luke's work had a baby shower for Luke and Violet and our friend Mike and his son Gabe. So thoughtful.

They did not even pose for this picture...too funny!

Here is a picture which demonstrates how Bailey is dealing with this whole "new addition" thing.
